An Austrian antique school sampler on linen, the last of my treasures from Jane at the Moses Lake Quilt Show. There’s white embroidered scallops, drawn work, hems, French seams, button holes, etc.

And across the bottom 3 buttons made from wire circles. It’s wonderful and I’ve already created a piece inspired by it. I’ll share that Monday.

Happy Fourth of July!

Hi Virginia, Those buttons are amazing. I have a sack full from Vienna. Did Susie tell you that we all went to visit Jane in Vienna? What a wonderful place. Well here is the blogs I told you about. French Garden House, Raised in Cotton,My romantic home. Also Karlas cottage is the one that uses old wall paper for her cards. All fun to visit. I had a good time at the quilt show. But got sick after I got home. Love your things…Susies sister Sally

I remember when I first learned to do French seams in high school sewing class. For our final project we had to make a lined dress coat with French seams..I loved doing it! Those buttons are wonderful! Louise

I learned how to do French seams in Home Ec too. I made a pair of pants and used French seams down the legs, etc.
Great piece of vintage sampler. Looking forward to Monday’s unveiling.
Happy 4th to you and your family.
