18″ x 8″ Linen, tatting, spool papers, old hand written letter, reform initials. Machine pieced .5″ squares, hand quilted, cotton. Haven’t found many decent frames lately, haven’t looked much either though.
Back of photo reads: Margaret and me Sept. 29, 1928Hopefully they had a good time spending the day together. Maybe they shopped for fabric? Who knows. But I’d bet they would never have guessed where this photo would end up!
Rethinking what this blog is about…Happy Saturday eve (don’t think I’ve ever wished you that!)

I really like it. At first look I thought the patchwork was old. I myself pretty much went off blogging but I do still enjoy checking out what others have made.
I’ve missed your blogs and have been wondering what you are doing lately. I love the new piece you have posted. I have some wonderful old photos of family members and have been thinking about what to do with them. This collage is a wonderful inspiration piece. I haven’t done much sewing at all…spending lots of time with my daughter and grandson…who just turned “two” last month.
Thanks so much for sharing. I always look forward to your postings.
Happy Spring.
Like Karen, I too have missed your posting. Funny you should use that particular piece of tatting. Yesterday I made a pincushion as a birthday gift for someone special and used some of my vintage tatting on it for embellishment. I have similar pieces that were made by my Gramma..I liked your comment about Happy Saturday Eve..you are right, it is an unusual greeting but very welcoming. Thank you and Happy Spring!
Margaret and “me” would love what you have done with their photo. Thanks for sharing. I am always so happy to see a post from you.
Lovely! I have been thinking of making something using some old photos or prints of them on fabric, this is a great idea. Thanks for sharing.
i find your posting very inspiring and truly love them. i also had missed your posts and hoped you were well. when you have a job – even part time- your time is precious and i understand what you are saying.
this collage is especially beautiful – it strikes a chord with so many people interested in needlework and sewing.
i also want to wish you a happy spring and hope the flowers are beginning to bloom where you live.
I love this piece! Coincidentally, my name is Margaret and my birthdate is September 29 (but not 1928!). It gave me shivers when I read that in your post. Don’t stop blogging! Yours is one of the few I subscribe to.
This is so beautiful. My heart truly skipped a beat when I saw it. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful art.
