I was going through a CD the other day and found some photos of older pieces. You can barely see the quilt in the bottle and the flower in the book is about 1″, hand applique. Haven’t done any books or bottles in awhile. Hm-m, maybe I’ll have a go at one soon. What are you up to? Anyone Christmas sewing? Tis the season.

Some wonderful free graphic downloads from Just Something I Made blog. This gal has some unusual ideas, fun craft ideas. I especially like her spool advent calendar. And she tells you clearly how she does it, with photos.

I remember how I got there this time, surfing the net I generally don’t have a clue how I get anywhere. I was looking at Remmants blog, jumped to Junk Camp and found Just Something I Made there. Not too many leaps.

Tattered Angels asked me to be Guest Designer this month and sent some products to play with. I thought I’d share with you so…another giveaway! You have through Thursday to post a comment, I’ll announce the winner Friday. Those signed up for this blog are automatically entered. There’s no photo right now of the winnings but included will be 4 Glimmer Mist, Bingo Boards, Stencils (Regal corners), and some misc. pulled from other packages. Also there’ll be some of the fabric scraps from the projects I did. When sprayed with Glimmer Mist, fine muslin looks like silk ribbon. Thought that was cool.

They have close up photos of each block with the name of the designer who created them. I should have done this post at the beginning of the month…time flies when you don’t pay attention.

Remember that metal/wood…shelf thing with cubby holes for Barb’s wool? Well, I went and took some photos of it so you could see for yourself. Can you see the colors designated for each cubby? (click on photo to enlarge)

And since I was there I kept taking pictures. This sweet little pocket she scored while we were on the road from Houston. (I didn’t see it below another cloth, darn it)

One of her coolest finds. Isn’t it beautiful? And it came with several old photos inside, usually albums I find don’t have anything in them and certainly don’t look like this.

Whoo-hoo! I did it, it’s been tested and it actually works! I’m excited…can you tell? I added a free pattern download to my website and it didn’t take forever. (which is what I usually figure it’ll take when doing something I’ve never done before)  Here’s some pictures of the project. 

 All the postcards used in this project are from TwistedPapers.com.  It’s nice to have such a wide selection at your fingertips, download and print NOW. Doesn’t matter if you don’t have the time or cool antique store in town. Talk about immediate gratification. They also have paper dolls, ink blotters, labels, collage sheets, etc. Anyhow…this was supposed to be just a quick post. See ya tomorrow!

1″ blocks, machine pieced and hand quilted, can’t remember what they’re called, another reform letter, and a snippet of lace. The words are taken from a song…I think.

One of this weeks goals it to try and get a pdf file put on my website for you to download a little holiday pattern. Need to do the project first, that’s easy, it’s the file for download part that I haven’t done before. Wish me luck. I’ll post a quick note when its up for you to try out and, hopefully, let me know that it works perfectly.

I’m attaching a picture of my first creation because I read somewhere that you’d like to see what’s created . . . and I was thrilled with how my very first piece turned out!  The frame size is eight square inches, and lily of the valley is my favorite flower.  I was surprised at how the finished piece was completely different than what I originally planned.  I’m looking forward to creating my next piece!!!  THANK YOU for the inspiration and the incredible ideas.  Kimberly B.

And something I’ve been meaning to mention, have you noticed the avatars (little symbol by your name) in the comments that wordpress puts in if you don’t have your own? They remind me of quilt blocks…some real complicated designs. Each time you comment your avatar is the same, it remembers you.
